How to Make the First Move Approaching a Beautiful Girl Online at Twitter

“April, I’ve had a crush on a beautiful girl online over at Twitter for quite awhile now.  She’s a very high class celebrity lady, but not a major celebrity.  I want to talk with her.  She’s said in an interview that if you’re a man with the qualities of a good guy, then hit her up at Twitter.  What do I say to her? Is it possible to talk to her?   It’s seems just a simple, Hi or Hello. or What’s up. Those just don’t seem like any of them would be enough to get this kind of a high class girl interested in me.  What do you suggest I do and say?”

What a great question!  All of the dating sites are a sub-category of Social Networking sites.  Each of them varies a bit uniquely by the site.  Additionally, they vary by the metropolitan area where you reside.

In San Francisco and Silicon Valley, for instance, the home of a number of the sites’s corporate offices, residents think meeting people they connect with at Social Networking sites is perfectly normal so long as they practice safety behaviors.  However, that is not always the case in others areas of the United States.

Since I do not know the precise situation of how you first connected at Twitter with the lady in question.  First, you describe her as being a celebrity.  What kind of celebrity?  Is she “Twitter” famous with a lot of followers?  Or is she a Hollywood headlining celebrity?  I’m hoping your answer is a “No” to her being a Hollywood headliner, because then your approaching via Twitter poses unique obstacles.  The greatest challenge with attempting your approach and conversing at Twitter is that many celebrities simply do not personally read their DM (Direct Messages).  Even when you do send her DMs, her assistant might be the one reading them and perhaps respond to message to you.

That said, the tactics for your approaching her, do start using @Replies feature at Twitter to initially engage her in conversation about whatever is actually in her tweetstream.  At the same time, do be sure you have a real photo of you in your Twitter profile.  Don’t just use a cartoon as your avatar.  Additionally, start posting photos of yourself doing activities of your life, friends, and hobbies over at TwitPics so that she can go look and get comfortable with seeing you as a real man with a life.

Then start to DM her a few times just sort of getting a little bit real.  What you want to include in your DMs to her is admire some of her hobbies and activities she’s mentioned in her tweetstream.  Don’t just admire her beauty.  She’s used to guys just telling her, “You’re beautiful.”  Distinguish yourself and stand out as a man who might be worthy of her by admiring an activity of hers.  Your doing so demonstrates to her a real interest in her, not that you are just a “crush.”

Don’t send her tons of DMs.  You want to avoid coming across as a gushing “fan” who she needs to keep at arm’s length.  Instead, send her about 2 or 3 DMs over the course of about 10 days.  Ask her light questions so she would have a reason to reply to you.  As you admire her hobby, ask her “How do you first get interested in it?”  Those sort of questions.  Then see if she will respond to your DMs herself.  Be prepared that she might not.  The additional problem of how Twitter is now versus even only 3 years ago if she has a lot of people she follows then she may simply not read her DMs.  Direct Messages at Twitter have been automated and it’s gotten tremendously spammy.  Now many people simply don’t read Twitter DMs anymore the way versus in the early days of Twitter.

If she does respond to you and engages with you via DMs, then do go ahead and ask her out on a date.   You will need to give her your cell phone number and your email address first and ask her for her contact information.  You’ll need to be protective of her safety.  Use the 10 Safety Tips to guide you in how you arrange the first date logistics.  For example, you will of course meet in a well-light public place.

Her being a celebrity of sorts does pose a big challenge.  However, “Faint Heart Never Won Fair Lady.”
