Southern California Jewish Singles: A Shiksa Yenta Suggests Go Fly a Kite!

orange county dating expert singles scene beth jacob irvine caFor Jewish Singles in SoCal from Los Angeles County, Long Beach area South LA Cty, Orange County, and San Diego areas of Southern California you have a wonderful community celebration centrally located in the SoCal counties of a Lag B’Omer festivities at Mason Park in Irvine, CA with the Beth Jacob Congregation of Irvine on Wednesday, May 9th.

The cool attribute about the Beth Jacob Congregation and Irvine are just about in the middle of all of the Counties in Southern California.  That means that Irvine can easily draw Jewish Singles from the whole SoCal region.  That means you get the advantage of pulling from and attracting your fellow Jewish Singles from all around the geo-local area of Southern California, not just your own SoCal city or Southern California county.

SoCal Singles Scene Jewish Singles Nosh and Fly a Kite a Beth Jacob Family Community Festivities

The Lag B’Omer Festive celebration is truly a Jewish Family Community event with BBQ, Kite Making, Refreshments and Kite Flying (naturally) from 4-6 pm.  Regular readers of my dating and relationship blog will know as a Dating Expert I am always recommending to arrive a bit early so you can meet and mingle with more people as well as offer to help set things up a bit and demonstrate you are community serving oriented.  By doing so, yes, you genuinely ingratiate yourself with the organizers and gently let them know you are single from another area congregation, looking to mingle and meet other like minded folks.  They will get the hint and be sure to introduce you around, especially to the other singles of their congregation.  This is a time to step for a bit and be counted like on Sinai.

An additional advantage which SoCal residents will appreciate, is because it is on a Wednesday late afternoon, you can avoid the worst of the Los Angeles area commuter driving mess on the 405 that is part of your Friday evening commute.  Your job might even take you a little closer to Irvine and Mason Park than where you live, so have that as an added benefit.  Lastly, since it ends at 6 pm on Wednesday evening, you can always casually suggest to a few of your fellow singles that you all go enjoy a coffee at a local coffee house.  If you don’t want to stick around for the kids movie, then move over to a coffee shop after the Bonfire, guitar, singing and smores.  The movie screening will be at Beth Jacob.  Do be sure to stick around after the BBQ and Kite flying for the annual Bonfire at 7 pm.

  1. There is something about Kite Flying that brings out the kid in all of us. We did it here is Costa Rica on Christmas Day and all ages had a blast.

  2. Very interesting … terms either change or people do not understand the translation and begin using them … always thought it was a “Left Coast” thing … but Hollywood … whatever … we would never say schmuk in mixed company … likewise never call a Shiksa well – a Shiksa – in “mixed” company. (for 10 years I was the “token” WASP in a New York Jewish firm … I sold to the goyum)

  3. Hi Lyle, being from The Tri-State area, I use the term “Shiksa” with a warm sense of humor, a touch tongue in cheek. Thanks for joining the conversation here at my blog. – Happy Dating and Relationships, April Braswell
