Dating Tips for Single Women – Where the Guys Are

When Looking for Love, Ladies, Go Where the Guys Go

Just back from being Las Vegas, my primary home, where CBS affiliate station, KXTE, The D.A.M. Show features me regularly as their Dating Relationship Expert.  It is always an honor and a privilege to be recognized and invited onto television and radio.

A question I hear in all the emails I receive from the singles who subscribe to my quality packed ezine, Connecting with April Braswell is, “April where can I meet more single men?”

Of course, one of my points and ways I concretely help my dating and relationship coaching clients is to retrain their brain to notice, perceive, and value the singles they encounter on a daily basis.

Additionally, yes there are specific actions you can take as single women to stress making a concerted effort to meet more men and feed more men into your life.  A former boyfriend whom I am still really good friends with and I were just talking about that this evening over dinner.  It’s not like when you were 20 years old in college and guys are abundantly all around precisely where you are all day long.  After 30 and certainly after 40 single women who desire a romantic relationship must make a concerted effort and do this consciously to meet more men.

This past weekend in Las Vegas, the legendary Connie Francis was in town and gave 2 performance.  Yes, the original lady who sweetly serenaded us reminding us, “Where the Boys are” is where we want to be.  Hence the cute classic movie of the same name.  Ms Francis is a gracious diva and can still belt them out and be lovely with the men.

Inspired by her, I noticed that there are some more special places where the single women can position themselves to meet more men.  Of course you all have heard of the classic dating tip of hanging out and working out more at The GYM to meet more people.  Indeed, you simply do interact with more people going to the gym and using the facilities.
What about the classes?

So many of the gym fitness classes are the socializing hubs which women adore which make them great places for the marriage minded single guy to target to meet more women.

However, there are some great gym class ideas for women to meet more men and use the Law of Large Number for her advantage.

Which class might that be?

BOXING!

Ladies, protect your manicures.  Put your GLOVES on!  I am not talking about those gorgeous embroidered and pearl embellished kind of gloves, although of course, I do have a collection of those femmy delights.  No, I am talking about boxing gloves.

There are so many men who attend the gym’s boxing classes that you do want to position yourself there to meet them.  And hey, while you’re at it, you will increase your own physical fitness.  How cool is that?

Happy Dating and Relationships,

  1. I know a lot of single guys that are older and are looking for women. Want to know where they hang out? They are involved in hobbies like model airplanes (flying kind) and model rocketry. These are active-outdoor hobbies, which is similar to going to the gym. The best part is that these guys are usually better educated and have higher paying jobs. They may be a bit geeky, but I would consider them more stable than a guy you meet at the gym or at a bar. That’s why I love them as my customers.

  2. April you are right I was parked in a Target parking lot a few weeks ago and was facing a boxing gym, I was astounded by the number of women who were in the class.

  3. You’re right on with this one! I’ve been to a couple of these boxing classes and, yes, they ARE full of men!

  4. BOXING?!!!! You are just loaded with ideas! Who would have ever thought of that? But, I do love your line of thinking! Martial arts classes also often have a larger number of male students than female students. You are amazing. Just when I think you have got to be out of ideas on how or where to find dates, you come up with another idea I never would have thought of! That’s why YOU’RE the Dating Diva/Romance Coach and I am the Babysitting Lady

  6. Probably one of the most impressive ideas I’ve heard so far. I’ve yet to not be wowed by any of the ladies I’ve ever met in martial arts classes. They’ve all been amazing Great personalities, (outgoing), willing to learn (why else would they be there?), and usually just a little out of their comfort zone to try something new, all qualities that I admire.

  7. April,
Boxing is a great idea. And as Lisa says, martial arts classes are great too. Once women get over the fear of being hurt or hurting others they tend to love it. I’ve been teaching martial arts since 2001 and men always out number women, but most men that train in the martial arts love women that do the same. It is a win – win for women!!! 🙂

  8. Gym class(this includes, boxing, spinning, running classes etc)…

My suggestion to single women, ACT like you want to be in a healthy, mature, fun relationship. Your ACTIONS speaks louder than words:)

  9. Hi Lynn, thanks for stopping by and commenting at my blog. Great points about how women come to enjoy their pursuit of martial arts from a man who leads this himself. Yes, uniting the men and women who enjoy it often make great romantic couples.

  10. Boxing classes! What a great idea and great place to meet guys – and you know they’ll be able to protect you if need should ever arise!

  11. Boxing? What a novel idea!

I’ve been to one female professional boxing match. It was difficult to get into two women beating on each other, but some in the audience seemed to be living vicariously that night!

  12. I favor people that who post often, its very hard to acquire your sort of knowledge almost any means. First class work April. thanks.

  13. I like that idea, April. If I’m going to be out today I might as well go where the cute hunkie guys are.

  14. Hi April, your hair looks swish, by the way – have you done something new with it? And what do you think about men preferring long hair over short on women? Does it make a difference in dating?

  15. excellent reminder April that there is no “all the single and available men are here” signs and locations. Gotta go meet them.
