A Tasty Expert Dating Tip for San Francisco Bay Area Single Women

I am a well-educated, smart and savvy professional woman, too.  So where do you meet all the fun, engaging, and stimulating quality professional single and available men out there?

You have perhaps already attended a wine tasting.  Right. We are San Francisco Bay Area women.  Who has not been to Sonoma or Napa Counties and sampled some wine and improved her wine connoisseurship?  That goes with territory, doesn’t it, whether you prefer white wine or red wine.

Well, having wine sampling under your belt, what are some additional activities which you can pursue which pretty much guarantee you as 1 in 20 or roughly a 20:1 ratio of men to women in your social interaction?

Dating Expert Tip for San Francisco Single Women

Attend a Scotch Tasting. Perhaps you have never even heard of them.  Scotch Tastings are often cited in the calendar and events section of Connoisseur magazine.

I cannot tell you how many women identify, target, and attend these events.  Every time that they do, invariably there is disproportionately vastly larger group of single men to single women ratio.  Let those laws of large numbers work in your favor to meet a ton of men, many of whom are single men.  Are you one of those single women?

Scotch tasting events are predominately attended by men.  Single women ask me my dating coaching expert advice.  “April, for me to attend a Scotch tasting, do I need to be an Scotch expert already?”  My answer to these single ladies is an adamant, “No.”

One of the fun attributes of attending a Scotch tasting event as a single woman is that you can be a rank novice with Scotches and still enjoy the tasting event.  In fact, as a Scotch novice, you can make a point to ask all the other men there about their own expertise and opinion.  You can stand  out as a single woman who appreciates fine Scotch while at the same time allowing all the men to display their own expertise about Scotch.

Certainly ladies as you attend Scotch tasting events, you will meet many more men and certainly enjoy more dates!

Happy Dating and Relationships,

  1. April that is a way smart idea to go to a scotch tasting event, for people who like to smoke another possible event could be at a cigar event.

  3. Great tip, April, Scotch or Whiskey tasting get-togethers are a lot of fun, especially when they are combined with various regional food.

Here in Rome we have an expert, Rachel Rennie, a Scot, who has been collaborating with local resturants to blend great single malt Scotch whiskies with Roman food!

And yes, there are definitely more men at these events! And there is a lot of wonderful socializing!

  4. More good ideas for places where you can meet sucessful men. Scotch tasting is not likely to be attended by a bunch of winos. How about bartending lessons or a certified course?

  5. A very good idea. What better environment to meet new people? People are looking to engage in conversation, and you are trying something new that uses all of the senses. (Local magazines are always a great way to find new and different things to do).

  6. Tasting events for wine and alcoholic beverages are always great places to meet and mingle. I especially love this in San Francisco and the surrounding area. Sadly I am currently boycotting San Francisco until they remove Nancy Pelosi from office so my next visit there will have to wait.

  7. Great tip April. I may be biased April, but it is my opinion that it seems easier for woman to find good single men because they congregate together more often in these kinds of groups like scotch tastings. If I were single, probably wouldn’t know where to start looking for an event that had a large selection of woman and few men. I’m sure I’m wrong, but that is just my opinion.

  8. What a great and unusual idea. I have never heard of Scotch tasting. It sounds like a great way to talk to some people, being the “novice”. A few simple questions, and you have a conversation started!

  9. I love your innovative & simple steps to meet people.

However, I’d never heard of Scotch tasting either.

Now I’ve heard of kids eating paste but adults tasting Scotch tape?

Do you then lick packing tape or duct tape by way of comparison?

And how do you cleanse your palette after that?

What is the gold standard for a good tasting Scotch tape? 🙂

  10. what a great idea.

I would think you’d meet more classy guys there than a wine tasting.

I would think the guys there would be thinking “Where are all the women at?”

Great idea and please remind your readers not to get drunk and put themselves into bad situations.

  11. Wow, April. I’ve heard of wine dating events being recommended, but I’ve never before heard of Scotch tasting events. Sounds good
