The fun conservatives the San Francisco Young Republicans are having their monthly Happy Hour this evening, Tuesday, February 21st at the Cigar Bar & Grill at 850 Montgomery Street. No worries about the name of the venue. The SFYR’s Happy Hour is hosted in a no-smoking room. The SFYRs always know how to have a good time, combining a stimulating discussion and a conservative voice in politics to a fun evening of socializing and meeting like minded conservatively aligned people. While this of course then is not directly a single events, because of the age group of the YRs, this is a group where you know that a significant number of attendees will be single as well. And they will be your fun fellow conservatives at the same time.
This February 2012 SFYR Happy Hour meeting features special guest leaving San Francisco Bay Area conservative, UC Berkeley Law School’s Professor and special guest Visiting Scholar at the American Enterprise Institute, John Yoo. Professor Yoo has a distinguished career in Law and Politics, having served as deputy assistant attorney general in the Office of Legal Counsel of the U.S. Department of Justice. The he worked on issues of national security and terrorism after the September 11 attacks.
Professor Yoo’s most recent book, co-authored with Dean Reuter, is Confronting Terror: 9/11 and the Future of American National Security. With the demise of the much-beloved local bookstore in the financial district, Stacy’s Books, unless you already have a copy, you won’t be able readily able to purchase and bring the book with you unless you grab a copy from the bookstore over in Berkeley.

March 13, 2012 at 4:38 PMUnfortunately happy hours are not allowed in Massachusetts anymore. So whenever I travel I try to hit one. Of course it’s another great idea for meeting people – and for those concerned with dating someone from their own political party – this one in particular sounds perfect.
