SF Singles Events: Attend the SFYR July Happy Hour in Cow Hollow

San Francisco Young Republicans are hosting their monthly mixer.  Many clubs and associations curtail their summer activities.  You might be wondering whether the SFYR would be having their monthly social and political mixer.  Well, no worries.  Indeed, they are having it.  This just before the CYRF hosts in annual convention this year in August in San Francisco.  I’ll share more about that later.

The other day a Bay Area journalist was asking me what “Singles” events I knew about that were forthcoming.  Now, I do have a few and will actually cite one in a post this week for Bay Area Singles.  However, what I often recommend are events which are “Singles” events secondarily.  I am on the look out for events which have a primary purpose of something else, which gives you an immediate conversation opener as well as a values or interests alignment.

Attending the San Francisco Bay Area political clubs monthly mixer events is one of these great such events.  The Republicans of San Francisco are always a smaller group than the Democrats.  This is a good thing for you.  It means that the people who show up, it’s a smaller group than the probably, like, hundreds, of folks who show up for the San Francisco Democrats’ mixers.  Namely, when you attend a San Francisco Republicans event, a monthly mixer, the crowd will be about 20 -50 people.  For the monthly SFYR’s Monthly Mixer, typically it’s about a 20-25 person turnout.  The 50 people turn out for an amazing special guest speaker, typically from Sacramento or Washington, DC.  Think Washington Economics Presidential adviser.

So what that can mean for you is the peeps who show up are YOUR TRIBE, baby!  The are like a pre-selected group of peeps who are massively aligned with your values!  You will have SO many things you can talk about together.  And just because it is the Young Republicans of San Francisco, about 90% of them will be other singles.  By which I mean, they are not yet married.  They may have a girlfriend or boyfriend, but on their Tax Returns?  They check off SINGLE.

Tomorrow night the San Francisco Young Republicans is hosting Ricky Gill, the youngest Republican hopeful for Congress at 24 years old.  Gill has an amazing background and should prove to be both a fascinating speaker while you enjoy your brewski, cosmo, or fizzy water.  BTW, he’s a graduate of Princeton University’s Woody Woo (Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs.  I grew up there.  There are nicknames.  There are always nicknames.) In May 2011, Gill announced his candidacy as a Republican running in what is currently California’s 11th Congressional District.

Ricky, I won’t be there, but I do send you best wishes for your success!

The SFYR Happy Hour event is held monthly every third Tuesday night of the month from 7:00- 8:30pm at:

Unwind on Union
1875 Union Street
(between Octavia and Laguna)
San Francisco, CA 94123

  1. San Francisco singles will have a great time in Cow Hollow in the Marina district at the happy hour. But I’m confused, How is that not a primary puropose? Only kidding, that’s a great SF dating tip from the American Dating Expert.

  2. To participate in events with a primary purpose and dating as seconday is most excellent advice. Really helps the odds of finding a partner whose values or beliefs align with your own.

  3. I think you give a great advice for singles to go to events (political or not) that are not specially designed for them, because stilll they can meet a lot of people there. It is also important to meet people with similar political or religious values as it could make a relationship easier.
