Looking for Love Online After 40: Finding Love Digital Dating Internet Dating Book
DatingAdvice.com’s multi award winning Midlife Dating Expert April Braswell published her online dating book after much requesting as a guide specifically focused on helping singles to improve their dating profile photos to increase their chances of finding love and… Getting Swipe Right.
In the early Neanderthal days of Cyber Dating, your internet dating profile didn’t even need photographs to get dates, land a boyfriend or girlfriend, start a relationship, court, and even get married.
If you were seeking courtship – dating with the purpose of aiming for marriage, and not just an Adult Friend Finding hook up – back then, it didn’t even matter to go to all the extra effort and added expense to get your photos digitized and uploaded to your web dating profile. Back then, all the online dating resulting First Dates really were Blind Dates. We only had a written description of what each other looked like and the charm of our personalities and email message exchange to connect, flirt, and get to a First Date. People didn’t commonly own Digital Cameras.
Once digital photographs started to become possible and close to normal by about 1998, to include them in your internet single’s profile meant you had to get your photographs developed first (remember doing that?), pick your photograph which you thought looked good, then go to a place like Kinko’s and go to the additional cost and expense to make them digital and then take that home to your home computer and upload that single image picture to your cyber dating profile on the web. Oh what a tangling on the Net that was! Beautiful young women like me just couldn’t be bothered because we really could get dates fairly quickly and easily anyway without all of that huge extra effort.
That was then. This is now. Once digital photos became easy to acquire, all you needed was your own Digital Camera, singles started including multiple and sometimes too many personal life photos in your dating profile.
Fast forward to the 2000s and Smart Phones, we had a digital camera with us all the time! Digital photographs were all the rage. Selfies in bathroom mirrors dominated dating profiles of singles who simply didn’t know any better, right guys?
