Easter Weekend Dating Tips for Christian Singles

Happy Good Friday. And also Happy Earth Day!

So there are two services today.  You could do 1 of each at a different church.  And then there is Easter Vigil, the Sunrise Service on Easter Sunday, and the mid-morning service on Easter Sunday.

The point is, you really have quite a number of attending church service options before you as a Christian / Catholic single this weekend.  This Holy Week and Easter Weekend offer you so many opportunities to attend a variety of style services and even to attend a few of the services at different churches.

A true Easter Vigil is celebrated late at night Saturday evening.  Typically the service starts at 10:30 pm.  And the idea is that at midnight or just afterwards is when you and the assembled body then celebrate the Mass or Eucharist depending on your faith practice and how or what you call it.  Some of the really high church Anglican churches will not only light the Pascal Candle but will even baptize the candle itself.  Some of the Episcopal churches will do the litany of the saints.  We joke about them as that every one else clearly is a slacker for not doing that.

The thing is, the late night Saturday night Easter Vigil services are often done at the smaller churches.  And they have a repast afterwards which is to die for and where the people there are interested in creating community.  So it is an incredibly sweet time to go to church to meet other people just sweetly and casually.

Where as the Sunrise service is often done at Episcopal churches where there are more families with small children who just won’t be staying up late at night.  Bring some kind of a wrap with you to keep warm because even in the warm climates of Las Vegas and Southern California are often chilly at 5:30 am.  OK, everywhere is chilly at 5:30 am.

Additionally, when you sit in the pew, sit towards the back and in about 4 seats.  Leave the visual invitation to others to MAYBE sit net to you.  Sit towards the back because as people slip into the service later in time, they will typically start with the back.  By leaving space next to you, they might sit next to you…

Tomorrow a few more tips for Christian and Catholic singles for what to do actually on Easter Sunday itself.

  6. I remember many years ago, when I was living in Greece, even though I am not a christian orthodox, I would always attend easter services at the Church. After the Saturday night Easter Vigil services we would all attend in groups to the restaurant and it was always nice to exchange words with people that shared those moments.
