Ok, it is going to be a short one.
It’s my birthday and yes, I’m having a good time. Thank you.
OK, on the sad note, I gotta say what a DELIGHT it is that no relatives have died in the past 2 weeks. Last few years it’s been my mother, my grandmother, and then my father all died just around my birthday. Memorial services sure put a dampening on that festive birthday feeling.
YEAH! I am delighted to report all of my family, including my single boomer cousins and siblings are all HEALTHY, vibrantly so.
This evening, I went out with buds.
This weekend I am headed off to SoCal to, yes, hang and celebrate with my SoCal based family. Those long term relationships do indeed matter most. Family is first. Hopefully you can expand your family with a life partner, possibly a spouse. All the mortality puts things into perspective and reprioritizes our lives, now, doesn’t it?
The number of former boyfriends who surfaced to wish me a happy birthday was kinda intriguing and encouraged me that indeed I am creating and sustaining RELATIONSHIPS. Pretty nifty, really.
On the Singles Boomer Dating tips and advise front, I wanted to let you know that studies show that singles who go OUT to dinner etc. with friends 3-4 nights a week, friends who are ALSO making an effort to create a life-partner romantic relationship are more likely to marry than their single peers who stay at home (duh!) or who only go it alone. The SUPPORT of ones single and similarly goal focused peers (like being part of a GREAT sales TEAM not just selling alone, or being part of an excellent Master Mind) significantly impacted their likelihood for success.
So, get out, have dinner. And have a good time. Relationships really DO matter most, both in business and in romantic love.

April 27, 2009 at 11:53 PMNo one is ever attracted to common things. Why would anyone buy Common stuff ? .Confident people are the ones who are interesting and attractive.People say that confidence is something that you are born with but thats not even half true.A very small ratio says that they got confidence ever since they were born. And while the remaining major people acknowledged saying it was all practice and hard work.So there’s no person in this world not eligible for dating.Get out and get a life !!.

April 28, 2009 at 6:47 AMAs someone who spends quite a lot of time reading consumer behaviour research, I always enjoy those studies that spell out the obvious.
I have a sneaky feeling that the researchers get so wrapped up in what they’re doing, and have their noses pressed so close up against the data, that they fail to see what they’re doing in any kind of meaningful context.
Then again, when it comes to our own behaviour (consumer or dating) it can be very useful for someone on the sidelines to point out the obvious things we’re missing.
Happy birthday April, I’m glad you’re capturing some happier associations to go with your most important day of the year.

April 28, 2009 at 5:59 AMHere’s another Happy Birthday wish – Can anyone have too many? Fromyour post the recession, and the need to reduce going out to restaurants in order to save cash, should impact people’s dating lives.
At least Vegas has lots of specials.

Your comment about maintaining relationships with people you have dated… Do you find that the more serious ones are harder to maintain versus the one’s that were just a few dates once they are over? And when do you want to or not want to maintain?
Have a good one!
