As a dating and relationship expert, at this time of year just before Valentine’s Day, a number of media contact me to contribute to the articles and shows gearing up for the big romantic holiday. Last year, with the state of the economy and the brand new administration in the White House, a number of them wanted tips for how to celebrate in a frugal manner. Think of it as “Depression Era Chic” for celebrating your love, coupledom, and romantic relationship. Can you celebrate Valentine’s Day on a shoestring in any economy?
Well this year, the economy is still not robust and a number of couples still want to do something special without going overboard on their budget.
Creative Approach to Valentine’s Day
Valentine’s Day is on a Sunday this year rather than a week night. You can do something a little like the 12 days of Christmas with doing something small and romantic each day Friday and Saturday, leading up to Sunday, the actual day of Valentine’s Day. Think of it as “stocking stuffers” like small Christmas presents only these are wrapped with hearts.
If you do want to purchase flowers, place your order now so the stores do not run out or to ensure you can get them delivered on Saturday if you are ordering them online.
Each day this week, I’ll provide some simply tips for couples to celebrate Valentine’s Day frugally.
Singles – Attend Some Live Singles Events
Additionally, as a note to the single singles who are not seeing anyone right now, to you I give the simple and accurate truism: All it takes is one.
Yes, I’m known as an Online Dating Expert and am a great proponent of it. However, real romance starts when you are in person. So, you do still want to get out and meet more singles face-to-face.
This weekend take a look around your metro and extended metro area for any singles events. Do attend one or two. You might not meet the great love of your life. Although, when you keep an open mind, spiff up and look and smell your best so you are both magnetically attractive and your most self-confident, you will certainly have a fun time… and “yah nevah know!”
Happy Dating and Relationships,
