Continuing on the leveraging The Law of Large Numbers theme this week with the United States celebrating our Thanksgiving holiday, today is Black Friday and the retail shopping whirlwind has already started.
As single, you are likely wondering how I am going to propose leveraging this. The thing is, I’m writing this in the afternoon after the first mad rush of all the morning shopping has already passed. As a single with the goal of meeting more singles who might be a good fit for you, don’t go against the realities of the day. People are SHOPPING focused like mad in the morning. To have tried to get in their way would have been crazy, or even fatal like the tragedy in 2008.
Instead of trying to interrupt a shopping micro-focused person today, just wait over in the food court, in the pub, or the wine bar nearby. Women at the end of such a massively overwhelming shopping day often want to unwind a little and put their feet up before heading home. Sip a glass of merlot and engage them in light conversations.
Great topics for the day:
- What were the best deals you saw?
- What was your greatest triumph today?
- How much of your holiday shopping did you get done today?
For a lot of modern people, shopping itself feeds on the human drive for competition. So, indeed, there were triumphs today. “I got the LAST ONE in size 10!” or “I got the LAST ONE in Red!” So many women would love to have a man just listen to the tales from their day that when you do so with admiration and a smile, you will become magnetically attractive in her eyes.
Give them an opportunity to gloat, mirror it back to her, and admire her shopping skills. Then tell her, “You sure deserve this glass of wine now!” And she will feel favorably towards you. Many women are craving feelings of deservedness and would really love to receive even a little admiration and pampering while also having some of their competence admired.
Until next time…
Happy Dating and Relationships,

December 1, 2009 at 4:11 AMI like the idea of sitting in a wine bar or pub, sipping a glass of merlot or a pint, whilst the world shops around you!
Best make sure you don’t have too many sips though, otherwise your light conversation may be a slurred alcoholic one!!

The Boxing Day Sales in Australia is equivalent to your Black Friday Shopping spree.
Great opportunity to either meet singles, grab bargains or both!

December 2, 2009 at 4:56 AMYou threw me off with this one. I definitely thought you were going to suggest shopping for the opposite sex while shopping for gifts. I like the spin you put on this. I saw Black Friday in a whole new light.
