3 Dating Tips for a Sunny Sunday Afternoon

To all the folks in the EU who are stuck in various ways where you are, grounded with their air travel, my condolences.  You might have been on a business trip.  Or maybe you were on a holiday or vacation as we refer to it in The States.  Being stuck and grounded is frustrating.  However, for you and for all of us, whether, single, dating, or married, then let me suggest you make good use of the time where you are to meet more new people.  For all the singles looking for love and searching for their Soul Mate, my expert dating advice reminder is the tip:

1. Dating Tip – You Never Know Where You Will Meet Your Soul Mate

You never know who that special someone will or through whom you will meet them.  Story after story of all the married couples I interview for my ongoing dating and relationship expert research tell me of having met through a chance encounter.

2. Dating Tip – Get Out and Mingle Where You Are at a Park

Well, wherever you are, make use of the time.  So often business people while business travel will just sort of stay in their hotel rooms aiming to get a lot of work done.  As a business woman myself, indeed, I totally respect that.  However, during your Sunday afternoon add the Influence and Persuasion Law of Large Numbers to your advantage.  Do aim to get out and mingle where lots of people congregate.  Is there a park nearby where you are staying?  Go talk an energetic walk around there.  Be sure to walk where you are facing the bulk of the flow of traffic.  Smile, nod your head, and say, “Hi, beautiful day,” and those sort of sentences.

3. Dating Tip – Get Out and Mingle Where You Are at a Cafe

Where is there an outdoor cafe where others are sitting at tables?  Sure, many of them might be tourists and you’ll never see them again.  Then again you just might meet a single beautiful woman who lives in your neighborhood or “District” as it is known in France.  Select a table near where there are others sitting.  Of course, you don’t know who is and isn’t single, available for dating, or in a relationship.  You are just aiming to help Cupid out by your being public to meet lots of people rather than remain holed up in your hotel room.   If you’re in London, there are more likely coffee shops and tea shops with little tables.  Go there.  The point is to connect with others and make meeting and interacting comfortably with new people part of your daily habit.

It is easy to break the ice and cross the sound barrier.  You have an easy conversation starter topic right now which is affecting everyone.  “How about all that Volcanic Ash from Iceland?  Can you believe it?  How is affecting your life?”  Boom, you should be able to exchange at least 5 sentences back and forth casually with a perfect stranger on that topic.  Your shared experience of being victimized in some way by the volcanic ash from Iceland will help you to build rapport.

  1. Advice to get out and mingle and engage our fellow humans is always good advice.

People are sometimes introverted and afraid to break the ice, but it something that can be learned and eventually you become comfortable with it.

  2. That is good advice. I always carry a book when I travel and it has often sparked conversation, too. People who are “stuck” in an airport are bored, so it is actually pretty easy to strike up a conversation with them!

  3. You are so right! Your soulmate could be in the unlikeliest place on earth! Keep talking….

  4. I love it – even when disaster strikes, April will find a positive! Ya gotta love this lady!
April, Did I ever tell you how I met my husband – It’s a cute story. Not your typical story. You mentioned asking married people how they met. If you’re interested, read on… I was working for an insurance company in a high rise bldg in Boston for the Facilities Mgmt department. My husband worked for the telephone company. He did repairs in my building all the time so he would see me quite often going up and down the elevators to give the maintenance men work orders in their shop in the basement. The telephone guys had a shop down there as well where all the telephone wires in the building were. So one day when he saw me leave the maintenance shop, he went in and asked the guys who I was and what my phone number was. Then he went back into the phone room and disconnected my line. So when my phone wasn’t working I quickly called the phone company for repair and guess who showed up to fix my line!!!!
