It’s already too late. Gentlemen, essentially, if you didn’t make your reservation a few weeks ago, 97% likely the restaurant where your sweetheart lady friend would like to dine…. is already completely booked up for Valentine’s Day.
If you live a bit more rurally, you might be able to land a table where your sweetheart desires to dine.
Then again, indeed, it may already be too late.
So, if you do want to dine out on Saturday the night before Valentine’s Day or on Sunday, the day of Valentine’s Day itself, what are some tips for getting a table now?
Well, Chinese Restaurants and a number of Asian Restaurants are likely out of the question this year…. Because the Chinese New Year is on February 14th. A number of Chinese Restaurants will either be closed, or they will often be quite booked up for special celebrations of the New Year – Year of the Tiger.
You will need to start thinking creatively. And ladies, know your man. If his temperament is of the more fluid type about time, then go ahead and suggest some restaurants where you think you two can still get a table. Perhaps a Thai Restaurant? What about a local Steak or Chops house featuring meat? It will support you if you are pursuing the Atkins Diet or South Beach Diet, focusing on protein, which so many women follow. Additionally, many men are really happy to eat steak any night of the week anyway. Or a local seafood joint.
A number of these restaurants, while not primarily romantic haunts, they still feature candlelight, creating a romantic ambiance. Be open to where you can get a table and refrain from being excessively “high maintenance” with demanding certain restaurants only. Allow the man to lead and take you out somewhere nice… of his choosing. Indeed, it is important to allow him to lead like this so you can well gauge how you feel with how he does treat you. Let him woo your heart, and observe how you feel when he does so.
Keep an open mind, and go ahead and DO make a reservation now.

Last night we sat behind mid way back at a wake. I noticed several guys with their arm around their significant other. I don’t now why, but it seemed so comforting. Special to feel the connection they had between each other.

BTW, Atkins and South Beach diet, aren’t the best diets to follow. I am a big believer in balanced nutrition with regular exercise.

February 5, 2010 at 1:34 PMHi Vick,
thank you for stopping by and commenting at my dating and relationships blog. Indeed, a man’s arm around us is so comforting, isn’t it? My own family was really there for me like that with both my late husband’s death and the several family deaths in the past few years. It makes all the difference in the world.
