3 Super Tips for Singles Ringing in a Frugal and Fun New Years Eve

With the downturn in the economy, many singles and couples are desiring ways to celebrate New Years Eve in a fun and festive way while remaining frugal with their funds. That said, not everyone has $250.00+ to spend on a New Years Eve celebration.  And that dollar amount is only just the cost of the ticket at some New Years Eve bashes.  It is not even touching on the cost of the ensemble – dress, shoes, and accessories or renting an evening jacket or tails.   Even couples or singles who have that kind of cashish available are just finding that they are not wanting to spend those dollar amounts on a New Years Eve celebration.  Many singles and couples are craving to find ways to ring in a Frugal New Years Eve.

One of the best ways to save funds while celebrating with fun in your heart is to celebrate locally and avoid the mega-metro centers.  Some of the best cities in the world do offer fun and fabulous festivities like in Las Vegas, San Francisco, Dallas, and New York.  However, when your New Years Eve celebrating budget is closer to $100.00 per head, you will want to stay local and focus on the secondary cities.

Some of the best ways to find and locate the fun local soirees is to search online and use such tools as Evite, Yelp, and Meetup.  So much of what works varies by particular metro area.  Which means, use those tools, and one will be better for your metro region, and another will be superior in my geographic region.  Keep an open mind, and do go look now before it becomes the afternoon of the 31st.

Here are just 3 simple tips for keeping New Years Eve festive and frugal:

1.  Avoid the Major City – Party Locally

I feel like those slogans from the 1980s, “Think Globally, Act Locally.” Well folks, party locally.  Who needs to schlep it all the way into Chicago, New York, or San Francisco.  Find a fun even at the local Hilton or Boutique Hotel near where you live or a classy restaurant bar where you live.  You will either experience a drastically reduced cover charge price or have none at all.  Many of the hotels will still have a cover charge which might approach $75.00 – $100.00, however, that is still significantly less than a major city.

2.  Party with Friends

Either host a celebration or attend a soiree at a friend’s house.  You can still keep it festive and frugal and completely avoid the cover charges.   If everyone is feeling spent after the holidays and their hosting budgets are spent, remember you can always do the soiree’s nibbles as a potluck.  Additionally, but keeping it closer to home, you all will avoid the drunks who might be driving and avoid accidents, ringing in the New Year by keeping it safe.

3.  Deck Out Your Home and Stay In

For couples who have already paired off or who are married, go ahead and stay home, just do find ways to have fun, be festive, and be frugal.  Costco is offering great prices on champagne from Chandon to Don Perignon.  String your Christmas Fairy lights up around your balcony, your back patio, or even the living room if you live in a super cold Northern climate.  I bet you two have a dressy outfit somewhere in your closets.  Who cares if the party dress you have dates back to the late 1990s and his dark suit is from the same fashion era, dress up, doll up, dim the lights, dance around the Christmas lights and you’ll be so busy canoodling you won’t even notice the outmoded clothes.  Be sure to insist on waiting until midnight to kiss just to keep things teasing, flirtatious, and romantic. Let it be part of your darling romantic banter! It keeps things fun and flirtatious between the two of you.
