Happy Holidays 3 Dating Tip for Singles

Happy Thanksgiving! to singles, couples, and married people all across the States.

For the singles this week who are traveling and those who are hosting, there are a number of dating tips activities which you can be doing to especially leverage the travel movement and activities of the Thanksgiving week here in the United States.

First, allow me to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.

On Thanksgiving Day itself, there are really 3 things you can do to leverage the holiday and the socializing energy and openness people have with each other.

1.  Be a Host

Host other people at your place.  If you are not up to all the cooking and baking, have it be a covered dish Thanksgiving with friends.  This is often how the singles in their early 20s spend their holidays when newly moved to new metro city.  Part of what is great it typically you are meeting some new people and extending your social circle.  So especially if you are 30 year and older, take a note from the 20 somethings social life and practice some hospitality.

2. Be a Guest

When you are invited to those special social gatherings on Thanksgiving and often for the Visiting of friend and family which is almost another whole meal in itself for Southerns, do accept and GO!

Hostess Present

Being a gracious guest means bringing a hostess present of a bottle of wine that may or may not be consumed at the meal.  You might additionally bring a bouquet of flowers.

Phone Your Hostess Before You Leave – Need Anything?

Be sure to phone your host or hostess before you leave and see if there is anything last minute you can bring along with you from the grocery store which they now realize they need.  Being a gracious guest ensures you will be invited again in the future.  And where it is appropriate to bring additional guests, do bring a few others along with you.  Part of the goal in having parties is to celebrate and extend each others’ social circle while having fun.

3.  Go Out

You would be intrigued and surprised always to find how many people are celebrating at restaurants.   Think of all the families who converge on Las Vegas for the holiday.  Even if you do not go out to a restaurant for the meal, you can still often swing by a restaurant in town with special guest in town for the occasion and enjoy a glass of wine together.  Do be sure to phone ahead to double check if the restaurant is open and serving.  Tip heavily and wish them Happy Thanksgiving when you do!  Make someone’s holiday season.

As you celebrate the day, start to prepare yourself for Black Friday and all the retail shopping.  Even if you are not doing all of your shopping tomorrow, you can still Leverage the Law of Large Numbers tomorrow.  I’ll blog about it tomorrow.  Just, go ahead, get ready and plan on heading out a little tomorrow.

Until then…

  2. April,

Your good tips in your blog always leverage the Law of Large Numbers.

Like numerology, its all just (quality) numbers :))

  3. Remember that the crowds are large at the more popular restaurants and that they are mostly family oriented. Take advantage of the fact that there are lots of people at the bars and coffee shops who are lonely and looking for love. Get out there and meet someone.

  4. Hi April, what a great idea. It’s true, we are already generally traveling over the Thanksgiving holiday and people are so open to chit chatting with strangers then.
