How Women Single Sports Fan Can Meet Men Over 40 at Sports Bars
I was just having a coffee in beautiful Newport Beach, CA, where I think the parking lots have the highest capita showing luxury cars from Ferrari, Porshe, Jaguar, BMW, and Mercedes Benz. Celebrities actually are part of the normal people there. So, it’s a fun place to sip an iced cappucino. We were plotting our watching of sports games. You see, I am genuinely a hockey fan. I grew up in the Northeast United states. I’m a business woman. Wear my femmy suits or business casual ensembles by day.
However, scratch the surface, mention the phrase, “Stanley Cup,” in a sentence, and I start to froth over at the mouth and need to get to a television set and glue myself to the game. It is only better when my siblings are around, because then the dialogue is interactive. Who needs the “NHL Tonight” commentators when you have my brother? (I still love to listen to Coach Barry and Buchigrass, aka “Barry and Buchi.” It’s just been too long since the two have been paired together.)
So now that we are into early October, my favorite aggressive and fun team sports to watch have started! And frankly, it IS more fun to watch them…. with others!
Now this is when it becomes time to think strategically. Single women often enjoy some team sports and just are not per se thinking like men. Ladies, it is time to think like a man! Where are they? “Where the boys are…. that’s where I want to be…..” is not just a fun song which you can listen to on YouTube
While I am certainly well-known as a strong proponent of Online Dating for singles to meet. It is only one tactic in a whole structure, strategy and system to meeting, dating, and mating your best match. Part of the dating strategy my coaching clients implement is to be looking around them at both their interests and with the singles in their area and to leverage the Law of Large numbers and be there! In Real Estate that would be thought of a “location, location, location.” Well, for singles it is the same thing. “Location! Location! Location!” You need to be where other singles are and are also naturally meeting and already interacting.
How does this tie into Football and Hockey Seasons? Male football and hockey fans are often WATCHING those games on television sets at (drum roll please) Sports Bars! They want to watch the games with others.
Sunday Night? Monday Night? Getteth thee to a sports bar!
Tomorrow I will provide some specific steps about how to be, do, act, and say when you are there to make the most of your time at the sports bars. You see, just GOING is not enough.
Until then…

Aussies are “sporty”. They love sports, NOT in playing them but in WATCHING them.
They also love pokies machines. So might be if one wants to have romance with a gambler, then that would be a nice venue to hang out :))
Sorry, I’m being silly here.

October 4, 2009 at 6:11 AMI LOVE the american sports bars.
Even if you don’t like beer or football it’s all cool if you enjoy slapping five!
There’s usually a nice relaxed, happy atmosphere there.
I miss the NFL. We don’t get it over here.

October 5, 2009 at 8:08 AMSports bars are a little more meat-markety. Yet can be a great place to catch each other when your guards are down. Besides you can bond over the great catch/save/shot that someone else did AND you can see his respect for/treatment of servers which is often a great indicator of how he’ll be treating you in a few months.
Is he respectful, courteous?

October 5, 2009 at 11:55 PMHockey, hockey, hockey! Yeah!
Purrrrrr.
While I can’t condone the slappery that occurs regularly, I do like to see the brawl escalate to the point that they’re ripping shirts off each other.
🙂
And then the bad boy comes to sit next to me.
They may not speak English . . . they may not speak, but good beefy chunks of man. Better for looking (usually)….
