Bay Area Singles Women Notice SIPA SV Conference Call for Volunteers

San Francisco Bay Area Single Women Take Note of Silicon Valley Indian Professionals Association Conference Need of Volunteers

When I lived both in Silicon Valley but especially San Francisco, I heard a lot about…. the problem.  You know, how DIFFICULT it is for single women in the SF Bay Area to get a date.

Because it is SO HARD for single women in the San Francisco Bay Area to find single men.

Well, I have one word for you.  A word of encouragement.  A hypnotic and power and potent word.

Bull.

By the way, that mental frame and perspective that it is SO HARD and SO DIFFICULT to find eligible and single men in the San Francisco Bay Area is actually a myth which has even infiltrated the news and has filtered into other cities, so much so that friends of mine from prep school, even male friends, commented on it to me before I got married.  Like it was a nationally known fact and a given.  “Oh April.  What a challenge…”

Part of me just laughs.  Then again, that which each of us is uniquely really good at and gifted in, we think is just, *sound of finger snap* so easy – that almost think that’s “just nothing” when others are crawling on the ground striving to grasp morsels and crumbs from the table just to come close to doing just a little bit and are in awe of us.

Well, yeah, I’m good at this.  Then again, I have strongly created and built a very strong “Daters Mindset” mental frame and perspective in my brain.  So where others see a business conference, convention, seminar, or mixer, I see that plus a wonderful opportunity for social and potentially romantic interaction!

So when I heard that the SIPA Convention, Silicon Valley Indian Professionals Association, was putting out a call for volunteers with an open meeting this Thursday evening, September 22 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, I thought to myself, what a great informal, comfortable, and casual venue for San Francisco and Silicon Valley area single women to easily, super easily meet a ton of professional business men without any social singles mixer meat market pressures on themselves!

The added advantage is that by attending the Volunteer event, you get a pre-conference sampler of what the crowd will be like.  Of course not all the men who attend the SIPA Convention will be single.  However, many of them will be.  Attend the volunteer evening and treat it like an appetizer before the meal to see if the crowd strikes the right now with you.  Even if the whole gaggle of people doesn’t seem like the absolutely perfect fit for you, it would be worth your attending the convention as a volunteer, because it doesn’t takes hundreds of single men to be right for you.  It just takes one.  One right one.  And you just never know where you’ll meet him.

When you open yourself to love, love will find you.

  1. A Daters Mindset … I like that! Kind of a spin on Henry Ford – if you think it is easy to find singles or think it is difficult to find singles … you’re right!

  2. Gee I spent most of my single life trying to find a place where women out numbered men 2 to 1 or better. However I never did find that statiscal utopia and I don’t think that mythical place exists.

  3. April!
We have the same myth here in Spain! No single men or women! Really??
I found so so funny the phrase: mixer meat market pressures …where did you get that from???

  4. Hey April,

It’s amazing how the “it’s impossible to find a date” mindset can so easily be implanted by just a few viral news blurbs when we all know there are plenty of People in the Ocean. Thanks for making the effort to Right the Ship and help young Indian Singles in the Silicon Valley find eachother and the single women in San Francisco and Silicon Valley.

  5. I think Silicon Valley Singles as well as other singles get the wrong Daters Mindset. The San Francisco Singles Scene and dating scene is full of potential but the defeatist in some rules out things like the Silicon Valley Indian Professionals Association as possibility.

  6. Thank you for pointing out that dating a lot of times is all about your mindset. If you tell yourself you won’t meet someone, then you probably won’t. But by being open and willing to step outside your box, you increase your chances.

  7. Before I came to Costa Rica, I had heard that the great majority of expats were couples. So it has been somewhat surprising that the majority of people I have met are single! And as you say, you only have to meet one! The right one…I think the idea of volunteering is perhaps the very best way to meet someone as when you are doing something you are passionate about…becuase there is no makeup that makes someone as attractive as being on fire for a cause!
