Friday Mid-September, Huntington Beach Celebrates German Oktoberfest at Old World Village
The city of Huntington Beach, fondly referred to also as Surf City, annually celebrates the German Beer festival of Oktoberfest celebrating every Wednesday through Sunday from early September through the end of October. This Friday, September 16, you can kick back with friends and meet new people easily and socially after work hours the celebration at Old World Village. If you enjoy beer and the tastes and foods of German, this event is for you. Taste such foods as German Potato Salad (a lighter more vinegar based dressing is used versus the Mayonnaise based dressing of its American counterpart), Sauerbraten, bratwürst, Wiener Schnitzel, and yummy dessert apple strudel.
Alternatively, enjoy the Huntington Beach Oktoberfest festivities on Sunday afternoon, and you can watch the weekly Dachshund Races at 3pm. To get a feel for what the Surf City celebration is like, check out the Photo Gallery at the Old World Village official website.
Old World Village is located at 7561 Center Ave, Huntington Beach, CA 92647. The 2011 Annual Huntington Beach Oktoberfest celebration runs from Sunday, September 4 to Sunday, October 30, 2011.
The atmosphere is excellent for socializing with current friends and easily chatting up new people who attend the beer and German cultural festivities. It is a light hearted, fun, partying atmosphere, complete with imported German oompah bands, Klaustaler Band and Treppensteiger-Band. Check out those knees! For full details for the offerings, Happy Hour options, and admission prices for each day, check out the official website: Old World Village Oktoberfest.

September 16, 2011 at 3:38 AMApril my mouth is watering thinking of wonderful German food. Reminds me of a restaurant in an old home town I used to frequent that was in the basement, was dark, and so German. Oh yeah. Thanks for sharing this great information–very useful for those in the area.
