A diverse array Costa Mesa Restaurants are featured this week with a number of local Costa Mesa restaurants offering specially priced Lunch and Dinner menus so you can enjoy a local taste and the variety of restaurants in town.
This is the first ever Costa Mesa Restaurant Week, August 19 – 26, 2011. For a full listing of the restaurants involved go to this website: Restaurants
This is both a fun event for locals and it is a wonderful option for singles to leverage.
As a local Orange County single, you know that a variety of people will increase attendance at these particular restaurants both at lunch time and for dinner time. This is leveraging the Law of Large Numbers. Go to venues and events where you know there will be large numbers of people gathering to use this Law in your own life.
One way to make use of this event to meet others will be to arrive early and to do things like have drinks at the bar before dinner. Additionally you can do things like enjoy an appetizer or even your whole meal at the bar area. Some of the restaurant venues will have bar areas with tables. Others will feature full meal service where you can enjoy your dinner directly sitting at the bar.
When you sit at the bar for your dinner, you have options to just casually interact and lightly converse with the people to your right and to your left.
“Wow, that looks so good. What’re you having? Do you mind if I ask, how is it? How does it taste? Is that hot and spicey? Or is it more of a mild flavor? The meat, is that moist? Wow. Thanks so much. I just may have to order that myself.”
Now, it would be perfect if the person to your right and to your left was a single amazingly attractive member of the opposite sex to you. However, if that doesn’t quite work out for you perfectly, that’s ok anyway.
Maybe it’s a couple on one side and an interesting single on the other side of you. You can casually chat up both members of the couple. What is he having? What is she having?
“Hey thanks so much. That’s really helpful. How’d you two hear about the Restaurant Week?”
Over the course of your meal, they might leave and two other people sit down next to you then and start to ask you about your meal.
Enjoy this special food week at Costa Mesa Restaurant Week! It runs from August 19 – 26, 2011. I wonder when the next ones will be, don’t you?

August 22, 2011 at 1:27 PMThe Costa Mesa Restaurant Week sounds great. This compares to Greek festivals as well as the San Genaro festivals. This is a very fun date idea.

August 23, 2011 at 7:57 AMMy daughter was sitting at a bar to have lunch and there was an older man (as she called him ‘grandpa age”) to her right and a couple to her left but to the left of the couple was a young attractive man and when the couple departed their seats the two began a conversation. They went on a few dates and things didn’t work out romantically for them but she made another friend. And we can all use more friends!
