Christian Dating Tips: Wishing You a Blessed Maundy Thursday for Relationship Success

Maundy Thursday is the Christian pedicure day.

I say that tongue in check.

In the more liturgically based Christian Denominations, Maudy Thursday is commemorated with a ceremonial foot washing.  Often people in the congregation will then pour water over each other’s feet.  And at the end of the service, the Crosses are COVERED.

In some of the older more Anglican Tradition churches, it is Oxsblood purple (Think dirty burgundy color) cloths are used to cover the crucifixes in the church.

And you’re wondering what on EARTH this has to do with Christian Singles dating and relationship longevity?

Well, my point is, THAT Passion Week Church service is an excellent for singles wanting to date to attend because it is a more intimate service and you WILL meet others at it.  Albeit in a more brief manner. Just aim to hang out and chit chat with others attending the service so you can actually meet a few people.

And then we segue to Good Friday for Easter.  There are multiple service types to observe the occasion.

I’ll blog about that tomorrow.

Happy Dating and Relationships!

  1. Hi April,

Hmmmm….that is something that had never ever occurred to me but it is a rather inventive way to meet other people!

Looking forward to what Good Friday brings me on the singles scene!

  2. Any sort of activity that essentially forces you to interact with others will be beneficial to those who might otherwise be shy about such a thing.

  3. April,

Your mention of foot washing ritual reminds me that feet is the part that emits (leaks) most spiritual energy and vibration. That’s why it’s advisable for those persuing spirituality to wear thick socks and avoid their feet being touched or touching other people’s feet unless that other party is at a much higher consciosuness level than they are.

The exceptions are between husbands and wives or “partners’ as we now more inclined to embrace. Foot washing would be an intimate way to communicate.

  4. I am sure the Catholic priests consider it one of the more intimate services as well.

    Happy Easter.

  6. Phil, you are SUCH a goof ball!

It’s an old world humility gesture because feet were considered terribly abased. So for Jesus Christ to wash the Disciples feet was a Servant/Humility gesture.

    No nail polish…. 😉

  7. I can never remember if the Easter BUnny sees his shadow, is that 6 more weeks of Lent or an early Spring?

    Seize the Day,

    Rob

  8. Foot washing is a very old custom and gesture of humility and honor. Not the usual way I would think of to meet someone. Worth consideration. Maybe conversation while in line.
