Orange County Social Events Well Suited for Singles: Tustin Tiller Days
As the Internet Dating Workshop I led last week attests, many of the singles in Orange County, because it is more of a suburban area where couples and families have settled down, most OC Singles are divorced or widowed. Many of The OC’s Singles Scene must grapple with juggling having kids of all ages. That means, you are well served investing your social time in identifying and attending events where families with kids are welcome and have activities to do.
The Agricultural Heritage of Tustin Celebrated
Tustin Tiller Days is where the Orange County CA community of Tustin celebrates it agricultural heritage, a city area festival since 1957. Many don’t know that much of the older areas in The OC have agricultural roots. It’s quite fun that way because then various produces are feted each year by the different cities. The celebration also provides a venue which benefits local Orange County-based nonprofits.
2011 Tustin Tiller Days:
September 30th, October 1st and 2nd 2011
The Tustin Tiller Days Festival hours are:
Friday, September 30, 2011: 4:00 pm – 11:00 pm
Saturday, October 1, 2011: 11:00 am – 11:00 pm
Sunday, October 2, 2011: 11:00 am – 8:00 pm
Where:
17522 Beneta Way
Tustin, CA 92780
In addition there will be live local bands featured as part of the entertainment all throughout the weekend.
Saturday morning features both The Tiller Days Pancake Breakfast and a Parade.
The Tiller Days Pancake Breakfast is Saturday morning, October 1st, from 7:30 am – 9:30 am just in front of the Main Stage, Columbus Tustin Park, 17522 Beneta Way, Tustin, CA. The Pancake Breakfast is only $5.00 per person with a menu featuring pancakes, of course, but also some protein options for all the Atkins and South Beach Diet loving folks. The menu includes pancakes, eggs, sausages, OJ, and hot coffee.
Walk around just a little bit afterwards to burn off all of that amazing food and stay for the parade which starts at 10:00 am.
Because since this is a Southern California event, of course, there will be celebrities and local celebrities featured throughout the weekend. I’m more interested in the music and the parade. However, if you’re a parent to tweens or teens, having some celebrity presence can be advantageous for influencing and persuading your kids to attend this event.

September 27, 2011 at 7:30 AMI had never heard of Tustin Tiller Days. Sounds like the festival will be fun. I think there really are a growing number of singles who are divorced and therefore have children to find care for when they want to go out on a date. It’s great to have festivals and other activities where children are welcome, but maybe the organizers should plan a night time babysitting opportunity so that more single parents can attend these functions in the evening while on a date as well. LOL just a thought! 🙂

September 27, 2011 at 2:22 PMToo frequently dating and children are separate topics. It takes a dating and relationship expert like you to form a marriage. Thank you April for the tip on Tustin’s Tiller Days.
