How to Meet Singles: Look Around You While You Travel

OK, so the idea that you are traveling today and tomorrow presupposes you live in or are visiting The United States to celebrate the USA’s Thanksgiving holiday.

So what does that have to do with dating and creating a great life partner/marriage romantic sex relationship?

Nothing and everything.

Many of the singles (Singles – Never Married, Divorced, Widow/ered) who are in the state of Non-dating mode right now don’t SEE the singles around them.  Quite often there is a perspective in their minds that there is A PLACE where they will meet – and only there – Other Eligible singles.  Indeed using Internet Dating Sites can arm you with SEVERAL top quality and diverse internet personals dating sites.

However, as you travel, you will have many people all around you whom you would not normally be meeting.

Keep your eyes open.

With the most traveled days in the US being this week of Thanksgiving, you’ll want EVERY advantage at your disposal.  While you are there at the airport, whether it is parking your car (OK, so the lots were probably all already full yesterday, however, I’m following the logical course of activities you will be doing, so work with me here,  OK?) and then riding in the shuttle bus, getting your boarding pass, checking your bag (s), navigating the security line, getting your coffee and food at the food courts.  And then WAITING for your flight (you gave yourself PLENTY of extra time, yes?  Phew.  OK, good.).

There will be people all around you.

Smile.
Breath.
Be pleasant.
Chat them up slightly.
Have a cocktail at the bar.
Drink you coffee and chat up the people while you stir in the half-and-half
Help the ladies lift their bags into the overhead – you’ve been manly.  Not only will SHE be grateful (if not, sigh, yes, she’s a clod, perhaps she had other things on her mind?) but OTHER women will notice it and note YOU as a gentleman – distinguishing yourself immediately from the herd.

Or maybe your travels are closer to home and it’s only in your car that you will be traveling.

Perhaps to the Safeway to purchase some half-and-half for the coffee for the family?

You KNOW why everyone ELSE is there at the store today?  to get ready for Thanksgiving.  THAT is your Conversation starter.  As you wait for the other person to close the dairy fridge door, utter something like, “I have to pick up some extra half-and-half so there’s enough for everyone! Here, let me hold the door for you….” Then just smile  pleasantly at them and wish them “Happy Thanksgiving!”  They might respond and say something, or maybe they will just SMILE.  When they smile, ask them, “Oh, you too?  Stocking up before company arrives?

If you’ve been implementing my easy dating tips from this blog for the past 6 months, you are already an easy conversationalist, able to pass pleasantries with strangers, briefly, pleasantly, leaving conversational doors open to converse for 3-5 sentences.  Or let the conversation end at 3-5 sentences.  It’s all ok with you.  You’re just blithely in your style (mine is lively, vivacious, sparkling through life…) moving through life.

And while you are traveling, look around you.  Other eligible singles?  They are all around you.  Talk to them.  Who knows, you might meet your future husband or wife that way…

  1. Hi April!
I know, we always think that there is “a” place, but actually the best place to meet someone is anywhere! travelling, at an airport, a bus, coffee shop…

  2. Great advice, April. Dating whether you travel near or far is an experience. The best anyone can do is be open to any dating situation that comes there way. This will give them more options than they ever dreamed of.
