Now that Summer Time is in full swing, here are 3 sensational summer updates
I was just recently interviewed and featured on Boomer Nation! radio. It’s always an honor to be an invited guest on radio and television. Radio Host Terri Benincasa asked me for tips for both married boomer as well as single boomer getting back into the swing of things with dating.
An important lifestyle tip useful both for married people looking to keep themselves and their married relationships vital and for singles to enjoy dating success is to incorporate change into your life, weaving that in on a regular basis.
Wardrobe and Style Update
Sensational Summer Tip #1: Update Your Hair Summer Style
Many people are still wearing the same hair style they embraced when they graduated from high school. Both on a style level with wanting to sport a contemporary style that is current with the times without being a slave to the fashion designers, you do want to update your hair style. Hair texture changes over time. Popular hair colors change over time as well. Even the men can use an update. You can do so either by going to your favorite hair salon or barber, or if you want to keep frugal while adding new style to your image, go to a local beauty school and have a teacher supervised student give you a hair image update. For a ton of Hair Style ideas, check out the over 27,000 hair images at HairBoutique.com where my friend Karen-Marie has been helping people banish bad hair days for over 10 years. If you use peroxide as part of your color enhancement, do be sure to use a hair sunscreen product to protect your tresses from the harmful sun’s rays.
Sensational Summer Tip #2: Update and Add Color to Your Summer Wardrobe
Summer offers another time to update your image by shifting your wardrobe a bit. If you are used to wearing blue jeans and black denims year round, experiment with wearing white denims jeans or soft light blue denim jeans. Add some lighter colors to your wardrobe. Additionally, add more vibrant summer colors to your shirt collection that you wear with your casual outfits. Lighten up your jewelry with summer accessories. Try a bright color floating scarf. Men might think all they have to do is change the baseball cap that they wear, but you too can incorporate some summer color into your wardrobe. Try some bright colored sport shirts, camp shirts, or Tshirts.
Sensational Summer Tip #3: Update Your Summer Skin Care
Summer weather has a definite change on your skin. If you are in a humid climate, you might actually be showing a few times a day. Additionally, if you are used to using cream on either your face or body, often the increase in heat stimulates your oil glands more than in the temperate weather and you might find you need a lighter moisturizer in the hot summer months.
If you are at the beach or enjoy a hot tub or pool time, the salt water or chlorine has an additionally drying effect on your skin. You’ll want to keep body lotion around at all times to refresh your skin after all those showers you take. Just using a moisturizing body wash isn’t enough to for great summer skin care.
Of course, seeing that it’s summer time, you are using a great sunscreen at all times? We all want to be combating the sun exposure and protecting our skin from the possibility of skin cancer by protecting our skin with a high number SPF sunscreen. Keep one in your car because you get a lot of sun exposure while driving both your face through your windshield as well as on your arms like with “Driver’s Tan.”
By shifting your image with the seasons, you are regularly incorporating newness as a habit into your life. Long term loving romantic relationship studies demonstrate that that single characteristic is highly important for long term love. Plus, you will enjoy the added benefit of more fun and enjoyment in your life year round..
