If you are a fan of Sherry Argov from her first dating and relationship book for women, Why Men Love Bitches: From Doormat to Dreamgirl – A Woman’s Guide to Holding Her Own in a Relationship, and you are IN a relationship and desire to segue to MARRIAGE, this is a wonderful, wonderful book. Indeed, even before reading this book for my work as a Dating and Relationship Expert and Dating Coach, I managed to live out a number of the sage dating and real courtship advise she suggests with such warmth and whimsy in how my late husband courted me.
She purports so wisely that modern men are turned on by sexy women who hold their own in a relationship and are CONFIDENT as women, not just as executive business women. I loved her chapter on letting him chase you until you catch him. That is literally the phrase my late husband used to describe our courtship. And he related it with a darling look on his face and a happy smile. He, indeed, was a sweet Southern man who knew both the need and the how to pursue a lady, and did so with me. The clarity of his decided interest in me was refreshing and impressive. It made all the difference for why I first accepted dates from him and then segued into his dating me and courtship.
I say courtship and not just dating because even in the world of modern dating, ladies, you can tell and feel the difference. You don’t need to cart out your dear father, uncle, or brother to grill the man on “his intentions.” They’re obvious. He wants to cut you out from the herd, mark you as his, typically with a small gift of jewelry or two, and make you his. By so doing, keeping all those other interested men who are circling around you at bay. It’s really quite delightful.
Whether you love and adore every single word of advise Sherry utters, if you read this book and implement even 27% of it in your dating and mating life, you’d be engaged within 18 months with a man who ADORES you… and says it and his behavior testifies to it. You won’t be sitting there wondering all the time if he really loves you and asking your girlfriends if they can tell if he really meant it when he said it. A man’s behavior screams it. But he doesn’t leave you wondering at all. He tells you as well as demonstrates his loving you. Love is an action, not just a feeling.
I highly recommend all women over 30 who want to get married soon buy this and read this fun and wise book. Just remember to implement what Sherry suggests, too. Just reading it alone is not enough. Be a doer as well, an implementer.
Happy Dating and Relationships,
