Thanksgiving offers us a chance to pause and be grateful to God for all the blessings we enjoy and to celebrate with our family and friends. Thanksgiving is a big food-centered celebration. And as such, now is a great time to prepare by cleaning up your kitchen and giving your fridge a special deep cleaning before it gets all filled up with the food you make or receive as a guest.
Lots of people are stocking up on the essentials today with a food shopping run to CostCo. And if you are single, you probably hadn’t thought of CostCo as another wonderful place to meet singles, but it is!
Now, what should you do while you are at CostCo to leverage your time there?
1. DO Stop by All the Tasting Carts
People tend to line up and congregate here. You will certainly encounter many married couples here. However, just think of it as friendly practice. I have to say, CostCo on the weekends is a great time for the single guys to meet women. What I have seen at CostCo is that we ladies do our shopping socially. Typically you will see 1, 2, or 3 women shopping together. 1 woman might be married. However, 1 of her girlfriends is single. Chat them up in a friendly fashion by asking them for their opinion about the food being tasted.
Here are some simple conversation starters you can use with them:
“What would you suggest serving this with?”
“Do you think the fat content is too high?
“Do you think the sodium count is too high?”
2. DO Stop By the Vendors Out Front for a Bite to Eat
The pizza and hot dog stand areas out front of CostCo typically have picnic tables at them. While you are online ordering your hot dog, just exchange a few friendly words with the person in front of you and the person behind you.
“How long have you been waiting?”
“Wow, they sure are popular today, is the line moving fast?”
“Have you had their hot dogs before? Are they good?”
This picnic table area is very popular with the Blue Collar guys and even a few Executive Business men, and some men are variation combinations of both of those categories, so keep an open mind. So ladies, stop by and nibble on a hot dog. These picnic table areas are most busy with the working crowds Monday – Friday, and typically starting as early as 11 am. You might want to do your food shopping a little early and get out there and flirt.
3. DON’T Try to Make This into a Date Today
Most people who are shopping at CostCo have to hustle to get all of that food back home and into their fridge rapidly. So now is not a good time to offer to buy the lady a Diet Coke or a Hot Dog. To try to do that now unless you are already incredibly well-skilled in that area, means you would be 99% likely to set yourself up for rejection, and who wants to experience that? Ouch!
Instead, it is better to have a short engaging convo, flirt a little, and ask for her number as your give her your card to create a layer of personal safety and security for her to feel more secure and comfortable giving her number to a perfect stranger she has only talked with for a few minutes as CostCo.
Whatever you are doing today, aim to interact with at least 5 other people, doing your Daily 5. Practice your flirting and have fun! As you do that daily, you naturally and automatically increase your level of attraction with others.

Hi Don,
thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting. tee hee. I like how you put it that way. Indeed, sample away! And be sure to wear your Cowboy Hat to help with conversation openers for the ladies. Cowboy up!

If it’s like the UK, I’d recommend going when it’s busy, so there are people to meet, but not so busy that people are stressed and not in the mood to chat.
I like the “sampling” metaphor.

Always HOT tips from the best On-line Dating Expert!
Well, we have sort of a Single Day in Valentine Day in Australia, but not for Thanks Giving Day.
None the less, it’s a quality number game in dating as in sales, so maximizing one’s exposure is an important success element in getting the desirable date.

Grrrreat advice! It’s possible to meet people everywhere; we just have to keep our eyes open. When I was single, I met young women in various places. For example, I met one at a gas station, one at a concert, and one at the gym I worked out at (that one turned out to be my wife). Oh, also, I met a young lady in a restaurant (I was there having lunch by myself and she was a waitress), another at a mall (she worked there), and another via introduction from a friend. Potential dates are everywhere.

Costco is a great place for meeting people, especially if you frequent a particular one. As you say, time to get out and meet some people.
